Description of the Flag

At the ETAN site flag image identical to the one in the booklet [t9l07] and absent at the parliament website: A green flag with a large light blue globe with black lat. and long. lines, surrounded by a yellow 27-rayed nimbus; the map of East Timor on the globe in white and a white peace dove with an orange scales of justice held in its beak flying towards it; below, overlaping the nimbus, the initials "PMD" in bold red sanserif capitals. (The globe doesn’t make any sence at all: the lines are terribly drawn and East Timor is the only dryland on it, with even land boundaries shown as coasts and the whole stretching approx. from 20ºS to 50ºS and wider than halfway around the globe…)

A green flag can be seen in Getty photo 73801928 (Copyright: Cândido Alves / AFP / Getty Images): it shows on a pale green background a light blue globe with black meridians and parallels surrounded by a nimbus of about 40 yellow startips sticking out, above black wide sans serif capitals reading "PMD".

Presentation of P.M.D.

Partido Milénio Democrático (PMD). Chairman: Hermenegildo Cupa.
Jaume Ollé, 07 Apr 2007

Millennium Democratic Party (PMD), which nominated first Father Carlos Filipe Ximenes Belo as a Presidential candidate (I think, he declined) and supports Xanana Gusmão for Prime Minister to lead a Cabinet of National Reconciliation for the 2007 elections. So, no wonder, they are now supporting José Ramos-Horta, who is a close friend of Gusmão.
J. Patrick Fischer, 08 Apr 2007

In the 2007.06.02 elections P.M.D. got 2878 votes (0.69%), being the party with less votes and getting no seats in the parliament.

A new party, the Democratic Progressive League is announced to have been created in June 2007 joining all six smaller parties which recieved no seats in the Parliament. No news for now about an emblem or flag. (In the announcement, at official blog of U.D.T., a new spelling for P.M.D.: "Partido Milleniun Democrático".)
